AI Automation Developer

About the role

We are seeking an AI Automation Developer to build and maintain AI agents across a Microsoft 365 and Azure environment. The role centers on orchestrating workflows, integrating APIs, and deploying agent-driven automation using Power Automate, Copilot Studio, and Azure Functions.

You’ll work closely with a Microsoft Fabric data team who owns the data layer, while you focus on the orchestration and execution layer.

Daily use of agentic coding tools such as GitHub Copilot or Claude Code is a core requirement. Directing AI to generate and refine code, critically reviewing its output, and iterating quickly is essential to success in this role.

Core skills & requirements

• Production‑grade Power Automate cloud flows, including HTTP connector usage, external REST API calls, JSON parsing, expressions, Teams/Outlook/SharePoint integrations, and robust error handling with retry logic.

• Copilot Studio experience building and deploying conversational agents in Microsoft Teams, connecting to Power Automate flows, adding knowledge sources and document grounding, and calling external APIs (including Claude) as custom actions.

• Ability to call Claude API or Azure OpenAI endpoints via HTTP from Power Automate and Azure Functions, structure system prompts and user messages, parse JSON responses, and store API keys and endpoints securely in Azure Key Vault.

• Daily, active use of agentic coding tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or Claude Code to describe build tasks, review generated code, iterate quickly, and treat AI as a development partner.

• Proficiency in either Python or TypeScript for Azure Functions, including calling REST APIs, handling JSON payloads, and directing/reviewing/debugging AI‑generated code.

• Practical Azure experience: deploying Azure Functions, managing secrets with Azure Key Vault, creating Entra ID app registrations for Microsoft Graph API access, and operating with AZ‑900‑level knowledge or equivalent hands‑on experience to deploy agents securely in a client’s Azure tenant.

Nice to have 

• Experience with Azure AI Search for indexing documents to support RAG agents that answer questions over internal content.

• Familiarity with Azure AI Foundry for deploying Azure OpenAI in client environments where data must remain within their Azure tenant.

• Exposure to Microsoft Graph API for reading Teams transcripts, calendar events, and emails to support meeting‑focused agents.

• AI‑102 certification as a useful indicator of Azure AI Services knowledge.
