Security Engineer

About the Role

We are looking for a detail-oriented Security Engineer to ensure that our solutions meet strict regulatory and security standards, including PCI DSS, SOX, lottery compliance requirements, and AWS security best practices. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and implementing secure systems, safeguarding sensitive data, and maintaining compliance across multiple jurisdictions.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement role-based access control (RBAC) mechanisms combined with multi-factor authentication (MFA).

• Configure and manage AWS KMS for encryption at rest and in transit.

• Design and implement audit trail mechanisms to track all system transactions.

• Ensure compliance with lottery security standards across 24 jurisdictions.

• Implement and monitor security controls for ticket serial number tracking.

• Conduct regular security assessments and vulnerability scans.

• Identify, analyse, and mitigate security risks and vulnerabilities.

• Document security architecture, policies, and compliance controls.

• Collaborate with development teams to embed security best practices into the software lifecycle.

Required Skills

• Experience or knowledge of application and cloud security principles

• Hands-on experience or familiarity with: Java, Python, and React (for secure application development), AWS, including security services such as IAM and KMS.

• Understanding of security frameworks and standards (PCI DSS, SOX).

• Knowledge of authentication and authorisation mechanisms (RBAC, MFA).

• Familiarity with encryption standards and key management.

• Experience with security testing tools, vulnerability scanning, and risk assessment.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Attention to detail and a proactive approach to security.

• Good documentation and communication skills.
