Senior Infrastructure Automation Engineer

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Automation SME to help modernise and streamline operational processes across our server and infrastructure estate. This person will play a key role in reducing manual effort, improving reliability, and enabling self‑service capabilities for internal teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain automation workflows to remove manual effort from daily, weekly, and monthly operational tasks.

• Build and enhance self‑service capabilities for users (e.g., common server tasks, checks, or provisioning actions).

• Automate and manage HPE SPP updates and patching cycles across the environment.

• Create automated reporting by collecting and correlating data from HPE OneView, SCOM, and other monitoring tools.

• Support centralised management of Windows Servers, improving consistency, compliance, and visibility.

• Build and maintain scripts, runbooks, and orchestrations using modern automation and scripting tools (e.g., PowerShell, runbook automation concepts aligned to typical SCOM/Orchestrator tasks).

• Contribute to environment reporting, operations summaries, and proactive monitoring activities in line with established governance practices. 

What you’ll bring

• Strong background in PowerShell and infrastructure automation.

• Experience with Windows Server administration and centralised management approaches.

• Familiarity with SCOM(monitoring, dashboards, alert tuning, management packs, automation tasks). 

• Exposure to HPE OneView or similar infrastructure management tools.

• Comfortable building repeatable processes, documentation, and automation runbooks.

• Proactive mindset with strong problem‑solving skills and an eye for operational efficiency.
